Sistas are tired of spending Valentine’s Day, their birthday and many of the other holidays alone. Just yesterday, a good friend of mine informed me that she had taken her profile off all of the online dating list because she was having a hard time finding a “good” black man.
Boy, if I hear this again, I’m going to scream. My friends tell me that I do not understand because your married to a so called “good” black man and that I haven’t been in the dating game in 18 years.
The advice I give to them is don’t limit your possibilities. The world is a big place and if you can’t find a man of your own race, just go out there and find a “good” man. I often tell them that so called “good” men come in all different shapes, sizes and color.
I tell them that you do not have to be alone, it’s okay to date outside of our race. It was interesting to find this video that discusses the fact that an increasing number of Black women are dating and marrying interracially. Check out this video and let me know your thoughts….this subject can be a little controversial.
I have no problem with people dating outside their race, but the thing that got me was the first woman that said she wanted a man with good hair. Has this woman looked at her wig, she has no hair or very bad hair, but she wants a person with good hair. Out of the 4 women that were interviewed the only woman that most brothers would be interested in is the beautiful sister that sat on the end and the host. I must say that the sister that was divorced was a little sexy also.
Black coffee please, no sugar and no cream!!!!!!!!
Now that’s what I am talking about. The thing is, sometimes a woman may meet a great guy at a party and they just click… just like that. But you know what, this doesn’t go anywhere because of one thing … the dude wasn’t from her race. I think its time we removed such buts and forget judging people by how they look annd actually give ourselves a chance to be happy … we have lost too many of those chances with our BUTS!!!
my second husband is Mexican, and he is the best man that I have ever had. I remarried at 37 and we have a baby together.
